International and Domestic facts on hunger and poverty

The FAO’s latest data on world hunger, from the period 1999-2001, is reported in The State of Food Insecurity in the World 2003. “Across the developing world as a whole, an estimated 798 million people were undernourished in1999-2001, only 19 million fewer than during the WSF baseline period [1990-92]”. From these figures, it will take a lot more work to reach the goal of cutting the number of undernourished in half by 2015.
